MACARON: According to some sources, the macaron was created in 791 in an Italian monastery and Catherine de Medici introduced it to France in 1533. Since then the “macarons” have enjoyed great success in France and in particular at the court of Versailles.
MERINGUES: Macaroons are pastries made of two fluffy and colorful meringues that contain a creamy filling. Each color corresponds to a different taste.
INGREDIENTS: the basis of the preparation is made up of simple ingredients, namely egg white, almond flour and icing sugar, but manufacturing is a real challenge to achieve an excellent result.
THE RECIPE: it has varied over the years from one baker to another. In the 19th century, they were served two by two with the addition of jams, liqueurs and spices. The last variant dates back to 1930, becoming as we know it today.
